The Windows Recycle Bin and sim- ilar utilities in other operating systems are designed to protect you from accidentally deleting hard files you actually need. Instead of marking file's clusters as available, the operating system moves the file to the Recycle Bin folder. The deleted file still takes up space on the dik but does not appear in the usual directory listing. Files in the Recycle Bin folder can be undeleted so that they again appear in the regular directory. The Recycle Bin can be emptied to permanently delete any files contains.
